Happy Mid-2014!

Since 2013, I have re-uploaded the files to Mediafire. Hopefully the ban won't happen again. And I have (painstakingly) updated the links on the blog posts! All 109 of them.

Points to note:
1. If the page shows an error, please refresh and try again. It should work by the second try. If the error is persistent, please inform me via the c-box on the left.

2. The older files are password protected (before mediafire removed the feature for the newer files) You have to chant my nickname (and type it in) 3 times:

jpmjpmjpm

3. Please do not re-uploaded the files onto any other websites. Sharing the link is fine.

4. Sorry for the lack of consistent updates. I am currently a university student with school, family and friends commitments. As such, I can only update mostly during the holidays. In addition, I will only do requests for songs that I can find free and available sheet music to transcribe for.

Anyway, you can try to Google for numbered scores already available on the internet by googling "song name and/or artist/band's name jianpu/简谱“ . Clicking on the image search sometimes helps too!

Alternatively, you can try searching for the sheets music and transcribing them into numbers yourself! Its not very hard actually, you just need to figure out the key signature and then transcribe note by note, adding the sharps accordingly. =)

5. If you wanna thank me for the scores, you can do so by commenting on the posts or on the c-box! Do also support me by clicking on the ads when they appear. Comments about the scores (or errors you spotted) are welcome to!

Yeaps. Thats all! Oyasuminasai!
お休みなさい (Good night!) .

About/ ReadMe

Welcome to this newly created blog!

Most people would recognise the standard sheet music sheets consisting of Modern Musical Symbols. (♩ ♪ ♫ ♬ etc)

However there is actually a different form of sheet music called 简谱 (Jian Pu), aka Numbered Musical Notation. It is actually a different type of musical notation that uses numbers (1 to 7), lines and dots in place of the symbols to enable one to read music.

People who do not have significant musical backgrounds (such as learning the piano and reading scores) might find this easier to read and understand.

Using a simple song like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star as an example:

Hence this site (blog) is formed to share with others numbered scores (jianpu) featuring melodies of popular songs both in the past and recently - mostly English and Chinese songs. Not sure with the sudden craze of kpop songs though.

Note that this is unlike full music score sheets which also contains the background music (aka chords or bass music).

Comments and comments can be made through the comment link on the end of each post.
PS: I won't be taking requests for now though. Requests will be fulfilled where possible.

Read Me
  • Selection of songs are of my own discretion and of course, requests that I managed to fulfill.
  • I apologise for any errors made. My music experience is a limited one being in an ensemble during my 2 college years. Having said that, if you find any errors worth mentioning, or any broken/outdated links, please inform me via the "comments" link found at the end of the relevant post.
  • In addition, the format of the numbered music score sheets in this site is not the only (and entirely correct) way used in music. Hence please do not compare them to professional sheets found elsewhere.
  • Not all the songs are transcribed entirely by me. Some, I take reference from midi files I found on the Internet. Others ( especially for kpop songs) are transposed from sheet music already available on the Internet. In all I will credit appropriately, with names and links to the original sources. Absolutely no copyright infringement intended.
  • You are allowed to use, edit or transpose the scores accordingly for your instruments for your own private use. If you are reposting, please do not remove any of the credits.
  • Lastly, hope you find the site useful!
